Plate 1185X. Pine Creek 1929 – 2006 Viewed west down Pine Creek in Zion National Park to Skinny Bend on Utah Highway 9 (Garate 1989). Pine Creek is on the right and is more vegetated today than in earlier times - - cottonwoods have increased as has boX elder. The camera station is 100 feet east of the spring that crosses the road from the south (left). Pinyon, juniper, turbinella oak, and Utah serviceberry have all increased. The road-cut and fill have naturally revegetated.
