Plate 1183X. Pine Creek 1930 – 2006 Viewed west down Pine Creek in Zion National Park. Utah Highway 9, a.k.a. the Zion-Mount Carmel Road, has been widened and paved. The photopoint is at Carl’s Bend (Garate 1989) and Pine Creek is on the right. The road-cut and fill have naturally revegetated with rubber rabbitbrush and cheatgrass. Pinyon, juniper, Utah serviceberry, and turbinella oak have increased.
