Plate 1235X. Pine Creek 1872 – 2006 Viewed northeast up Pine Creek near the entrance to The Box north of Escalante, Utah. Vegetation change appears to be minimal. Willows, river birch, and cottonwoods are common along Pine Creek, while ponderosa pine occupy drier sites in the narrow valley. There has been slight increase in pinyon and juniper.
