Pickering Creek
1942
2006
Description:
Plate 1401X. Pickering Creek 1942 – 2006 Viewed southwest down Pickering Creek to Coal Creek Canyon and Cedar Mountain. Conifers now block the original camera station, so the retake was made from the nearest open area on the main road below Sugarloaf Mountain. Conifers have increased, while aspen has declined. Pinyon, juniper, and mountain brush species have all increased. Many of the older conifers, however, have recently been killed by insects and disease.
