Pass Creek

Description:

Plate 1063X. Pass Creek 1967 – 2005 Viewed north on lower Pass Creek; a.k.a. the East Pass Reseeding. The area in the foreground was root-plowed and reseeded with crested wheatgrass a number of years prior to when the 1967 image was made. Rubber rabbitbrush, green rabbitbrush, and three-tipped sage have begun to invade the site, but the seeding is still largely intact despite yearly livestock grazing. Pinyon, juniper, and ponderosa pine have increased in the distance. The area was actively being grazed by cattle in 2005. Plates 1062x and 1063x form a panorama from left to right.
