Plate 812X. Mill Flat 1960 – 2004 Viewed south across Mill Flat in the Pine Valley Mountains. Aspen has declined, while conifers have increased. Conifers include limber pine, Douglas fir, white fir, and spruce. The Forest Service has installed an electric fence around the meadow to exclude livestock. Grasses include mountain brome, Letterman needlegrass, muttongrass, squirreltail, and western wheatgrass.
