Plate 641X. Midway Valley 1969 – 2004 Viewed southwest across the upper end of Midway Valley on the Dixie National Forest. Note the small wooden-fenced exclosure over the sheepherders’ right shoulder. The area is still grazed by domestic sheep. Insects and disease have recently killed most of the older spruce. There has been no salvage logging.
