There is little apparent difference inside or outside the exclosure. Spruce has increased in the distance, but many of the older trees were recently killed by insects and disease. The foreground is a mixture of sedges, Kentucky bluegrass, yarrow, aster, bistort, cinquefoil, and other forbs. The area was actively being grazed by domestic sheep in 2005. The exclosure was built in 1925.
