Description:

Plate 530X. Long Valley 1931 – 2004 Viewed northeast to the East Fork of the Virgin River in Long Valley about one half-mile above McDonald Canyon. Ponderosa pine has increased despite selective logging. Pinyon and juniper have also increased, but willows have declined along the East Fork. The stream has not down-cut. The irrigated pasture in the foreground is primarily sedges, rushes, and Kentucky bluegrass.
