Description:

Plate 1452X. Lava Point Lookout 1957 – 2007 Viewed east to the old, fire-ravaged lookout on Lava Point in Zion National Park. After the original structure was destroyed by fire, the Park Service built a new lookout on Lava Point - - see Plates 1451x and 1453x. That lookout has since been removed and the area turned into a viewpoint by the Park Service. In the distance, white fir, spruce, ponderosa pine, oak, mountain brush, pinyon, and juniper have increased.
