Plate 1450X. Lava Point 1962 – 2007 Plates 1446x to 1450x form a panorama taken from Lava Point in Zion National Park. Plate 1450x is viewed east down Kolob Creek. White fir, spruce, pinyon, juniper, ponderosa pine, and oakbrush have increased, while aspen has declined. Many of the larger spruce were recently killed by insects and disease. The original photopoint is now blocked by woody vegetation, so the retake was made from the nearest open area.
