Lakeside Lodge

1920

1996

Description:

Plate 14. LAKESIDE LODGE: 1920 - 1996 The buildings in the foreground in 1920 were removed by 1996. Aspen (Populus tremuloides) on the southeast facing hillside has increased in height and some clones have expanded in size. Curlleaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius) is now more visible in the foreground, as are willow (Salix spp.) which were apparently hidden by the buildings in 1920. The spruce (Picea sp.) in the left foreground appear to have been planted. Conifers on the hillside have increased in height and numbers, as would be expected in the absence of fire.
