Description:

Plate 1058X. Jim Hatch Reseeding Rock Canyon 1957 – 2005 Viewed south to the start of the Parker Three-Step Transect in the Jim Hatch Reseeding. The steel fence post seen in the 1957 image has been removed but all the other steel stakes were still present in 2005. The site was actively being grazed by cattle when the retake was made. The area was root-plowed and reseeded with crested wheatgrass prior to the initial photograph, but today has been reinvaded by three-tipped sage and snakeweed. Mountain big sage and rubber rabbitbrush are also present. Pinyon, juniper, ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, and spruce have increased in the distance.
