Plate 990X. Ikes Valley 1952 – 2005 Viewed east at the head of Ikes Valley. This photopoint is approximately 150 yards southwest of the pond seen in Plates 985x and 986x. The area in the foreground has been treated and is mostly smooth brome and Kentucky bluegrass with some native Stipa spp. In the distance, ponderosa pine, juniper, oakbrush, Utah serviceberry, snowberry, currant, and squaw apple have all increased, while aspen (photo left-center edge) has declined. The site was actively being grazed by sheep in 2005.
