Plate 666X. Hurricane Valley 1941 – 2004 Viewed southeast from the foothills of the Pine Valley Mountains to the Hurricane Valley north of St. George, Utah. In the distance is the town of Hurricane (photo-center), which has increased in size - - also see Plate 664x. Pinyon and juniper have increased, especially in the right foreground. Other woody species include live oak (Quercus turbinella), singleleaf ash (Fraxinus anomala), Mormon tea, desert olive (Forestiera neomexicana), snakeweed, and indigo bush.
