Description:
Plate 1510X. Holt Canyon 1932 – 2007 Viewed southwest where Holt Canyon crosses the Enterprise-Newcastle road on the northern side of the Pine Valley Mountains. Holt Canyon is also known as Mountain Meadows Wash - - see Plates 1489x, 1490x, 1491x, and 1497x. The streambed has eroded, downcut, and been channelized to go under the highway bridge. Agricultural fields in the distance have been cleared but are now mostly cheatgrass. Pinyon, juniper, and mountain brush have increased in the distance.
