Description:

Plate 1331X. Green Lake 1936 – 2006 Viewed southwest to Green Lake below Square Mountain. The original photopoint is now blocked by woody vegetation so the retake was made 50 feet further south. Note how heavily grazed the area was in 1936. The area is now part of an up-scale housing development and plant cover has increased. The willows on the north end of Green Lake have declined. Oakbrush, mountain brush, and conifers have increased, while aspen has declined.
