Description:

Plate 1170X. East Entrance 1930 – 2006 Viewed west-northwest along Utah Highway 9 to the East Entrance of Zion National Park. The road has been paved but the alignment has not changed. The park entrance station is hidden from view in the retake. Pinyon, juniper, ponderosa pine, oakbrush, and Utah serviceberry have all increased, as have forest fuels. Sagebrush has declined as conifers have increased. Bitterbrush, Mormon tea, and cheatgrass are also present.
