Plate 1262X. East Creek 1935 – 2006 Viewed northeast up the North Fork of East Creek in Bryce Canyon National Park. The early image was taken shortly after the area had been graded, reseeded, and check dams installed to combat erosion. The park road is on the right. Shrubs have increased and include bitterbrush, black sage, rubber rabbitbrush, and shrubby cinquefoil. Ponderosa pine has increased, as have native grasses. There is no sign of recent erosional events.
