Description:

Plate 590X. Duck Lake 1938 – 2004 Viewed west across Duck Lake on the Dixie National Forest. The dam on the lake’s outlet has been rebuilt, which raised the water level and flood-out some of the shoreline vegetation. Conifers, primarily spruce, white fir, and ponderosa pine have increased, while aspen has declined. Utah Highway 14 has been widened and paved. The area around the lake is not grazed by livestock, as it is a major recreation area.
