Donkey Reservoir

1965

2002

Description:

Plate 84X. Donkey Reservoir 1965-2002 Viewed east across Donkey Reservoir on the northern flank of Boulder Mountain. Most aspen stands have been heavily invaded by conifers, primarily spruce. Some aspen around the shoreline has recently regenerated and is largely unbrowsed, as steep, rocky areas limit use by cattle, deer, and elk. The lake level was as low as possible in 2002 due to the extended drought and downstream water demands.
