Description:

Plate 1462X. Cave Knoll 1872 – 2007 Viewed southeast from Cave Knoll on the Lower Kolob Plateau in Zion National Park. A ponderosa pine now blocks the view on the right. Pinyon, juniper, ponderosa pine, shinney-leaf ceanothus, oakbrush, Utah serviceberry, and sagebrush have all increased, while native grasses have declined. A new gully has formed. Note the abandoned metal stock tank in the retake (photo left-center).
