Cameron Wash

2002

Description:

Plate 111X. Cameron Wash 1951-2002 Viewed west near the head of Cameron Wash. The original photo was taken while the area was being root-plowed to remove sagebrush. The area was later reseeded with crested wheatgrass and smooth brome. Black sage, however, has since reinvaded the site. The area was heavily grazed by cattle in 2002. Pinyon, juniper, and ponderosa pine have increased on the distant hillside. Oakbrush in the original photograph is still present but is largely hidden from view in the retake by the growth of the pinyon and juniper.
