Plate 1131X. Brian Head 1936 – 2005 Viewed southeast down Mammoth Creek from Brian Head. Hancock Peak (10,598 ft.) is in the distance - - photo center. Willows appear to have declined along the stream. Conifers have increased, while aspen has declined. Many of the older spruce, though, were recently killed by insects and disease. Summer homes have been built on the private land in the valley. Some of the bug-killed spruce has been salvaged logged. The shrubs on the left are currants.
