Blue Spring Valley

Description:

Plate 995X. Blue Spring Valley 1941 – 2005 Viewed southwest to Blue Spring Valley southwest of Panguitch Lake. Blue Spring Mountain (9,890 ft.) is in the distance. Utah Highway 143 has been realigned and paved destroying the original camera station, so the retake was made from the nearest open area above the new roadway. Ponderosa pine has increased in the foreground. The large ponderosa on the right in the 1941 image is still present, but is largely hidden from view by the recent forest in-growth. Conifers, primarily ponderosa pine, white fir, and spruce have increased in the distance, while aspen has declined.
