Plate 247. ALUNITE RIDGE TUSHER MOUNTAINS 1927-2000 Viewed southwest across the North Fork of Cottonwood Creek to Alunite Ridge with Mount Holly (11,985 ft) on the skyline. Conifers have increased now that mining has stopped. Aspen has matured, but most stands have not regenerated in many years due to excessive browsing. Conifers have also invaded most aspen stands.
