Richmond City, Utah

The Richmond City project was quite a unique experience. With the expansion of highway 91 the city wanted to be proactive and plan for inevitable changes. The city was willing to participate in a design charrette held in conjunction with the Department of Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning. At the beginning of the Fall 2003 semester all students participated in a city-wide analysis and from this analysis students generated many ideas to accommodate for the speculated growth in the area. After the charette the RIPP Program prepared a final downtown redesign including a roundabout, pedestrian crossings, park access, and central plaza. The final product was an interactive CD with images, posters, plan views, and 3-D animations. (Finished: 01-04 Designer: Chad Kennedy)
