Kane County Administrative Office; Kanab, Utah

Views of the existing site.

Base map of the design utilizing previously unused space for new visitor parking, and more native landscaping.

Concept design for a night lighting plan requested by the client. Lighting emphasizes landscaping, entries, and safer parking areas to the rear (NE) of the building.

The biggest challenge here was to create additional visitor parking while adding more event space to the exisitng layout. This was accomplished by adding a large visitor lot south of the building in what used to be a dirt lane. The existing historic square located west of the building was redesigned to become a passive recreation site. It has future parking spaces, but the area will hopefully never see them, as ample parking has already been proposed in the concept. The path due north of the building ties in to the existing Kanab trail system. Overall the area is safer, has a more attractive native landscape, and offers more amenities to the users of the site.
