Dr. Linda Skogrand & Dr. Brian Higginbotham

Linda Skogrand is an Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist in the Department of Family and Human Development. She comes to Utah after spending much of her professional life in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She has degrees in social work, human development, and education. Her work life has included teaching for 17 years, part-time, at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in the Department of Family Resources; teaching adult education courses at the University of Minnesota; coordinating HIV/AIDS education for high risk audiences including gang members, people in prison and street kids; and directing a community/university partnership between the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center and an inner-city community of Minneapolis.

Dr. Brian Higginbotham is an Extension Specialist and Assistant Professor of Family, Consumer, and Human Development. He is also a licensed marriage and family therapist. His interests center on the development and enhancement of healthy relationships over the life course. His Extension and research projects include at-risk youth mentoring, pre-martial education, and marriage enhancement. He particularly enjoys studying factors which influence remarriage quality and stepfamily functioning. Brian lives in Logan with his wife and two boys.
