ABOUT
OUR REFERENCE SERVICE
When should I use this
service?
Use this service after
you have checked the Utah Rangelands website thoroughly for answers
to your question(s). Remember that for questions on topics outside
the scope of the Utah Rangelands website, your local library (public
and/or academic) can provide reference assistance. If the scope
of your questions is applicable to areas larger than Utah, may we
suggest checking the Rangelands
West site for answers as well. Also, please note that many
questions are most appropriately answered by your county extension
agent, and in all likelihood, if you ask those kinds of questions
here, you will most likely be referred to him or her. Please explore
their services first since they are well-versed in your local plant
and animal life, and are a great resource for local problems.
Who can use this service?
Everyone is eligible to
use this service.
What if the electronic
reference form doesn't work?
If the reference form doesn't
work with your browser, send questions by e-mail to Mindy Pratt
at mindyp@ext.usu.edu.
Who will answer my question?
Questions directed to this
service are responded to by an Extension Associate with the College of Natural Resources at Utah State University and
other experts to whom she may direct the
questions.
What kind of answer
will I get?
Every effort will be made
to provide accurate responses, and citations to sources consulted
will be provided. Questions that don't appear to have clear answers
may be answered by pointing you to the appropriate sources for your
own examination or reflected back to you for further clarification.
How long will it take
to get a response to my question?
Turn around time should
be within 24 hours. With more difficult questions, within 24 hours
you will be notified that the question is being referred to a specialist
and when to expect a response from them.
Should I use this form
to comment of make a suggestion regarding the content or the structure
and design of the Utah Rangelands website?
No. We appreciate and look
forward to feedback on this site, and can be done using the Feedback/Suggest
a Link form. If forms aren't supported by your browser,
this information can be sent to the Utah Rangelands site webmaster
Mindy Pratt at: mindyp@ext.usu.edu.
