To bridge the multicultural education of Latino students. We promote multiculturalism and diversity through various programs which encourage critical thinking, reasoning, communication skills and problem solving skills. We work with our partners, supporters, volunteers and parents to strengthen leadership in our community.
The MLN educational work for the Latino community with Utah State University Cooperative Extension is about reducing the gap between learning needs and available resources, in safe, easily accessible place like schools, in the shortest time, with the most updated technology.
PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS,
Our work is focused on designing, implementing, and offering educational programs for the Latino communities in Utah. We built up a model that is now replicated in Granite, Canyons and Millard School Districts.
Around 1300 students have been registered in our program during the last 6 years
The Multicultural Learning Network was honored to receive the 2009 Extension CSREES USDA National Diversity Award, and in 2010 the Utah Valley University JOSÉ M. RUBIO Lifetime Achievement Award.
