Kitchen Staples You Can Easily Make Yourself
Commercially made kitchen staples are readily available at the supermarket. There are days, however, when just a cup of cake flour is needed for a recipe, or the brown sugar canister is empty and the kids want cookies. Homemade kitchen staples and mixes not only save money, but are also healthier. Come learn the things Grandma did not get around to teaching you. Recipes and sample included in demonstration. This class will be presented by Laurie Bates with the Food $ense Program and will be held on Tuesday, April 16, from 7-8 pm, in the Extension Kitchen, 160 North Main, Nephi (east doors). Call 623-3450 to reserve a seat or use our website at http://extension.usu.edu/juab/htm/food/classes. This material was funded by USDA’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – SNAP.
