Juab VITA Needs Volunteers

Juab County Extension is looking for volunteers to assist with tax return preparation next year at the Nephi Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site.

To be a volunteer and assist with VITA, attend the training on December 4, 8 am - 1 pm at the USU Extension Conference Room, 160 N. Main, Nephi.  Lunch will be provided.  Call and sign up today for the training at (435) 623-3450.

Why Should You Become a VITA Volunteer?  Serving at a VITA site is a very rewarding opportunity and offers a unique way to strengthen your community.  On average each hour volunteered brings in over $1,400 in refunds back to our community.  By joining the VITA team to assist low-to-moderate income families you will help create a WIN-WIN situation.

Charlene Ricks has been volunteering with the VITA program as a greeter intake specialist for the past two years in Nephi.  Charlene says “Being a volunteer is so satisfying.  I enjoy it and it makes me feel like I am contributing back to the community.”  Charlene is a very dedicated and caring person and is a valuable asset to the VITA program.  We are so grateful to Charlene for her volunteer service and are seeking additional volunteers to help with the VITA program.
