Utah State University Extension promotes awareness and educates the public on horticulture.
Informal, not-for-credit classes are offered periodically on various gardening topics, such as Composting, Native Plant Propagation, Shade and Fruit Tree Pruning, and Starting Seeds Indoors. We do make presentations to gardening clubs and other interested groups free of charge.
The Juab County Extension Office offers a home and garden class series. Information about this series, and any other garden class that we might be offering will be on the Juab County Calendar.
Spring Gardening Class Series
Check back next spring for the upcoming Juab County Spring Gardening Class Series.
People of all ages enjoy the benefits of gardening. Because of housing situations for some residents, they are not able to participate in gardening activities. The new Juab County Community Garden will provide the opportunity for all residents to enjoy the benefits of gardening. There are 20 individuals plots sized at 4' x 10' located on the north side of the Juab County Fairgrounds in Nephi. The plots will be filled on a first served basis. After agreeing to the garden guidelines, there is a $25.00 refundable deposit due by March 23rd. For 2015, in lieu of a garden plot fee, gardeners will be asked to assist with different projects at the garden. The gardener is responsible for all improvements to the plot including plot irrigation, soil amendments, and seeds/plant material. Water will be provide by Juab County via the irrigation system at each plot.
