Teen Council Meeting
2012-2013 4-H Teen Council
Youth in grades 8-12 are invited to join this leadership council. Iron County Teen Council conducts service projects, presents day camps and other 4-H events, recruits and fundraises for leadership trainings that they attend, supports the 4-H community by advising the Extension Staff about local youth needs, makes new friends all over the state of Utah and Nationwide, and has fun.
We will be meeting tonight Wednesday, February 13, from 6-7 at the Iron County Extension Office. Please contact Angela if you are able to attend. Friends and family are always welcome to attend and participate.
Welcome!
Want to know more about leadership and 4-H? Have a passion for community, service, and want to dig deeper? We invite you to join Teen Council—a diverse group of teens (grades 8–12) from all over Iron County interested in leadership. The best part about Teen Council is that we drive the action. Teen Council provides the opportunity for teens to participate in all aspects of the leadership process; public presence, meeting etiquette, and in personal presentation.
4-H knows that you are the next generation of leaders and community members and supports you by giving you access to their training, staff and the issues facing the national community.
Joining Teen Council is simple, free and gets you access to the education you need to help you succeed. For over one hundred years 4-H has encouraged teens to learn more about science, citizenship, healthy living and how create your own amazing individual leadership skills and reach your personal development goals. Check out the meetings.
We hope you’ll join us!

National 4-H Conference is a full week of learning, participating in focus groups and meeting new people. The conference usually takes place the last week of March or the first week of April.
The National 4-H Conference includes young people, volunteer leaders and Extension staff from the 50 states, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and 10 Canadian Provinces. During this conference, delegates discuss issues, identify problems, and develop recommendations for the Cooperative Extension System in youth development education programming. Their reports keep National and State Extension Leaders knowledgeable of the needs, concerns and programming ideas to build youth potential. They also have the opportunity to meet with our congressmen and discuss current issues.
The Conference is held at the National 4-H Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Youth also have the opportunity to tour Washington D.C.
