Associate of Science Degree in General Studies
The University Studies program, along with study in the major, is designed to assist student in achieving the Citizen Scholar Objectives. The program consists of two sets of requirements: General Education Requirements and Depth Education Requirements. Students who have received an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at any institution within the Utah System of Higher Education, or at another institution with which USU has an articulation agreement, will be considered to have fulfilled the General Education Requirements, but must still complete the Depth Education Requirements, as part of the requirements for the Bachelor's Degree. Applied Associate Degrees will not be considered as meeting the common body of knowledge requirements of Utah State University.
Competency Requirement (13 Credits)
The Citizen Scholar Objectives propose that students should be able to communicate effectively, utilize quantitative methods, make appropriate use of technology, and function effectively in groups. The competency requirements are structured to develop these skills.
