4-H & Youth

TEACHING AND REACHING YOUTH FOR MORE THAN 100 YEARS

The 4-H clover is probably the most recognized symbol of Utah State University Extension and one of the most recognized nationwide. The 4-H program reaches one of every six youth in Utah. More than 100,000 Utahns - about one in every six children ages 9-19 - participate in the program each year. Youth and Families with Promise (YFP) is another highly successful program available in nearly all Utah Counties. Mentors teach social skills as well as helping their youth with their homework. The grand mentors teach parenting skills. In both cases the mentors help youth plan a future that may help them through some of their problems.
