UTAH STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION SUPPORTS MILITARY FAMILY EVENTS
LOGAN — Utah military families have two opportunities to enjoy time together in September, thanks to the generosity of Operation Military Kids and support from Utah State University Extension 4-H. Both nights are free and open to military families in Utah.
The first event is a night exploring flora and fauna at the Utah House in Kaysville on Monday, Sept. 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Activities include a tour of the Utah House, bird watching, making a bird feeder and learning about wind and electrical power. A local bird expert will conduct two bird shows at 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The second military family night is hosted at Thanksgiving Point Gardens on Monday, Sept. 28, in Lehi from 6 to 8 p.m. Activities at the gardens will include touring the gardens and children’s garden, playing in the new Nature Explorer Classroom, making a bird feeder and watching a bird show at 6:30 or 7:30 p.m.
“We hope military families will come and enjoy the time together,” said Connie Packer, OMK Coordinator. “These will be fun nights they won’t want to miss.”
There is no limit on how many can attend, but reservations are required and can be made on the Utah 4-H Web site: http://utah4h.org/htm/featured-programs/4hmilitary/free-military-family-night.
Operation Military Kids is part of the 4-H/Army youth development project. The Utah Operation Military Kids Team is supported by Utah State University Extension 4-H. For more information, visit www.operationmilitarykids.org or www.utah4-H.org.
