USU Extension Horticulture Agent Maggie Shao states “On average, our phone line and diagnostic clinics serve over 1000 people per month during the summer”. This number is expected to rise considering the growing interest in gardening due to our unstable economy. Many residents don’t know where to turn when a problem arises and we are a perfect place to trust for answers.
Soil Test Kits are also available at our USU Extension office. Knowing your soil’s characteristics can help you plan your approach to your landscape, orchard, vegetable garden, flower beds or lawn. At our clinics, Master Gardeners can point you in the right direction on which one to choose and how to acquire your sample. A variety of tests are available for a minimal fee.
These Clinics will be held every Monday starting June 1st, 2009 and run through summer until August 31, 2009. Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at the Salt Lake County Government Center, 2001 So State Street, (south building, room S1200)
