The Carbon and Emery Opioid and Substance Use Coalition
HEART faculty are partnering with local community members in the coalition to coordinate the efforts of these communities to comprehensively address the opioid epidemic. They seek to decrease stigma; increase effective prevention, treatment, harm reduction, and other efforts; and come together to create healthier communities.
Little Cities of Hope Series
HEART faculty in partnership with the Carbon and Emery Opioid and Substance Use Coalition are offering the series to bring information and awareness to limited resource and treatment options in the communities through ETV News.
Living Well with Chronic Pain
The HEART team is co-sponsoring free six-week workshops which teach the skills to actively manage pain conditions. It is a proven method of reducing pain and improving function and daily activity.
Ogden Civic Action Network Partnership
HEART faculty are partnering with the Ogden Civic Action Network (OgdenCAN) to increase naloxone awareness and provide information and resources to the East Central Neighborhood through the production of information cards and toolkits.
Pain Education and Opioid Monitoring Program
HEART faculty are partnering with the Veteran’s Affairs health services to bring pain education and opioid safety programs to community members and community dwelling veterans in Emery and Tooele Counties.
BE-EPIC: Escape the Vape
Be Epic, Escape the Vape utilizes confidence building, educational events, and the CATCH-My Breath curriculum for vape and e-cigarette prevention. Youth in grades 5-12 receive factual information, skills to recognize peer pressure, and improve their overall ability to decline tobacco products.
