Sometimes the best time to harvest timber is
during the winter. With the onset of winter comes the opportunity for low-impact
logging. With proper precautions, timber harvesting in sensitive areas can
be done without impacting water quality. Consider winter harvesting when
logging sites are characterized by soil erosion and compaction hazards,
high water tables or wetlands.
