| Riparian vegetation adjacent to this stream make up the streamside
management zone (SMZ). The vegetation provides shade which helps maintain
water temperature for healthy fish populations. The SMZ also provides filtering
of surface runoff and sediment. Disturbance within the SMZ should be minimized. |
