Nutrition Facts (Panel)
$45 / product -- Using your recipe a computer program generates a Nutrition Facts Panel in camera-ready format. A complete recipe, servings per recipe, and container size are needed to calculate the nutritional information. Alternatively, food entrepreneurs may use our computer to generate their own labels here in Logan, UT at no charge.
Food product food safety analysis
$45 / product -- We can analyze your recipe/process for: pH, brine pH, solids pH, water activity and/or other measurements to determine the risks and hazards associated with a particular food product. These basic food safety measurements must made on freshly prepared samples that are sent to U.S.U. (Logan). Results are sent to the producer when completed and can be used to support a "Process Authority" letter (see below).
“Process Authority” letter to Utah Dept Agriculture and Food
$25 / product -- Often the Utah Department of Agriculture – Food Compliance Division requires processors to get a “Process Authority” letter. This letter states a professional opinion of the food safety of a particular product and process. A Food Product food safety analysis (above) is required to validate the safety parameters of the food product.
