Dr. Patricia Evans
Dr. Evans has a strongbackground in QuarterHorse training andshowing, but also hasridden and trainedWarmbloods, Arabians,and Morgans. Dr. Evanshas trained youth andamateurs for westernpleasure, hunter undersaddle, horsemanship, equitation, showmanship, westernriding, halter, and trail at both the state level andfor the Quarter Horse Congress.

Dr. Evans has taught many aspects of equine management including handling and training, daily care, breeding and foaling, and nutrition. Dr. Evans also develops and presents clinics for 4-H, FFA and industry enthusiasts on a variety of equine related topics. Dr. Evans teaches undergraduates in the Animal, Dairy and Veterinary Sciences Department at USU, along with developing a more extensive extension equine program for both youth and adults.

Future potential programs include the “LEAD” (Leadership in Equine Advancement and Development) program which will certify volunteers across the state in equine aspects. An additional program may be a judges’ certifi cation program that will assist judges with remaining up to date on judging information along with giving open and 4-H shows a list of judges that have gone through certifi cation.
