What is 4-H?

4-H is FUN! 4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills.  Participating youth, from grades K-12, and adult volunteers and leaders “learn by doing” through opportunities in which they gain a sense of belonging within a positive group, cultivate independence with guidance from caring adults and peers, and master life challenges.   More information on the state 4-H program can be found at utah4h.org . 4-H offers many learning opportunities for youth and adults in communities across the nation. Through the hands on experiences 4-H provides, communities can increase leadership and knowledge while still having tons of fun.

Through 4-H, you can experience:

  • Independence and Friendships

  • A sense of belonging with club members and adult volunteers

  • A spirit of generosity in helping others

  • And lots of opportunities to master life challenges!

Here in Utah, we are strong supporters of 4-H, with approximately 89,619 youth and 8,613 volunteers learning and having fun together in Utah! In 2006, Utah 4-H completed over 115,000 activities and projects throughout the state.

Duchesne County has many 4-H related activities and programs for our youth to be involved in, including:4-H

Community Club- Club for all youth in the community to get together and have fun learning. Currently, the club meets every first and third Monday at 9 am unless otherwise notified.

4-H Teen Council- A fun and industrious group who work towards bettering their community and themselves. Members of the teen council participate in service projects, group activities, and in helping younger 4-H members.

4-H Horse Program- This program is for all youth interested in caring for, showing, and learning about horses. Members of this group can participate in horse shows held throughout the summer including the County Show at the end of the summer.
