4-H Horse Links
Duchesne County 4-H Horse Program
The 4-H Horse Show is for all youth who wish to learn about and work with horses. To register for Duchesne County 4-H Horse Council Shows, 4-Hers will need to fill out the 4-H Horse Show Registration and give it to the USU Extension office and pay their fees one week before the first 4-H horse show they attend. Those who miss this deadline will be subject to a $5 penalty. The registration form can be found here. Registration fees are $20 for all classes or $3 per class. The Showmanship and Test Classes are mandatory.
4-Hers also need to make sure they have filled out and turned in their individual 4-H enrollment forms to their club leaders. Leaders will need to have those forms turned into the County 4-H Office before an individual will be able to show. This form can be found here.
The 4-H Horse Shows will run as follows-
4:00 pm- Late Registration
4:30 pm- Test
5:00 pm- Show
Duchesne County 4-H Horse Council Shows will be open only to Duchesne County 4-H members.
In order to move our shows along and get the speed events set up, we ask that the last age group to run during each show help set up the speed events. Then, during the events, each age group will have the opportunity to help set up poles, jumps and barrels for the age group that follows them. For example, if the rotation is SR. - INTER. - JR., the JR.s will set up the speed events for that day. Then, the JR.s will set up the jumps, poles, and barrels that are knotted over for the SR.s. The Sr. will set up items for the INTER. The INTER. will set up items for the JR. This will change each show depending on the rotation, so everyone will have the opportunity to set up the speed events.
