Junior Contests are for youth, grades 3 – 8, and are usually held the week before the County Fair.
Junior Contests for the 2013 year will be held on July 31st.
Contests for the Junior Division include:
Public SpeakingParticipants give a 3-4 minute speech on their 4-H experience. |
DemonstrationsParticipants give a demonstration on the topic of their choice. Demonstrations can last up to 10 minutes. |
Favorite FoodsParticipants demonstrate how to make their favorite food or snack before a panel of judges. Participants will be asked questions about their food and will need to provide samples and a recipe for the judges. |
Egg PreparationParticipants demonstrate how to make their favorite food made from eggs before a panel of judges. Participants will be asked questions about their food and will need to provide samples and a recipe for the judges |
Fashion ReviewParticipants model and answer questions about an article of clothing they have sewn or altered themselves. |
Dairy Foods PreparationParticipants demonstrate how to make their favorite food made from dairy before a panel of judges. Participants will be asked questions about their food and will need to provide samples and a recipe for the judges. Contestants will also need to fill out a Nutrition Facts Form which can be picked up at the Extension Office. |
TalentParticipants will compete onstage in Piano, Vocal Instrumental, Dance, or Variety. |
Table Setting Plan an attractive table setting for a menu. It should be for two people and should include all that would be on the table for the menu. |
