Leaders are to enter all exhibits through the Online County Fair Program. Go to https://utah4hreg.usu.edu/cf/ to enter projects. Projects must be submitted by August 5, 2012. You will need to be an active leader of 4-H with the email we use for 4-H. The deadline to register for 4-H members and leaders is JUNE 29, 2012. Information requested is as follows: name of county, class number, first and last name of the exhibitor, and a complete description (include color) of the exhibit as insurance against loss. Complete descriptions are required! Davis County will provide the exhibit tag. We will attach them to the projects when they are checked in. Be sure to enter your information in correctly before the online program closes August 5!!
Make sure that you are entering the project in the correct area. If you are unsure where to enter a project please contact us!! Remember if you are entering a project in for a clover bud (younger than 8 years old on October 1, 2012) they need to be entered in Class FD.
Exhibits can be entered two different days at the Davis County Legacy Events Center, Building 1: Friday, August 9 from 3:00-7:00pm or Saturday August 10 from 9:00am- 12:00pm. The doors will be closed right at closing of both days and no other projects will be allowed for check in (other than food and garden items). Remember all projects to be checked in must be registered online before August 5. If you bring projects to check-in that have not been registered online they will not be accepted.
Exhibits will be judged Rosette, Blue, Red or White according to the Danish system. Judging criteria is available online at http://utah4h.org/htm/events-registration/county-fairs. Clover Bud entries will not be judged; they will receive a participation ribbon.
Leaders may pick up premium money at the Davis County Legacy Events at the 4-H exhibit building MONDAY, AUGUST 19 between 2:00 and 6:00 pm. Only the leader entering the item may collect premium money and exhibits.
Exhibits selected for the State Fair must stay with 4-H personnel in the 4-H Office until after the State Fair closes, with the exception of food exhibits. The food exhibits selected for the State Fair need to be prepared again and delivered to the Davis County Extension Office August 29 between 8 and 9am. Baked products and gardening exhibits will not be returned without prior special arrangements. Items to be returned (hangers, pie pans, cake stands, etc.) must be marked with name of exhibitor.
We have been invited to judge the Weber County Fair on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
We will need 15 judges to help us in Weber County.
If you would like to join us for a fun day judging the home arts and 4-H department projects, please contact Zuri or Jenn at 801-451-3423.
Transportation will be provided by our office if you wish or you can meet us there.
Find a relative or friend to join you for a fun get-a-way. And guess what? The other counties feed us lunch. It’s a lot of fun!
You are qualified if you want to help. We will also find a place for those who have expertise in cooking, sewing, needlecraft, art, photography, or crafts.
Call with questions and concerns. We’ll be happy to tell you all about it!
