Youth & General Public Sites
Youth & General Public Sites

Dr. Allen Young
USU Dairy Extension Specialist

This months site is a little bit of a smorgasbord of information for youth and the general population. The first site is from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. It is a site for youth with an interest in dairy. The URL is:

http://www.uwex.edu/ces/dairyyouth/

At this site you can find items such as on-line dairy judging contests, quiz bowl questions, and links to related resources. If you have a 4-H group that is working on any of these areas, it might be fun to let them try their skills at this site. In the past, the University of Maine has been working on a site with quiz bowl questions, but I couldnt find the link. Check with me later to see if I have found it yet.

Another very different site is one called MooMilk. The URL for this site is:

http://www.moomilk.com/

This site is one you can send your neighbors and non-farm friends to visit. The site has a nice design and is easy to navigate. The level of material is fairly basic and easy to follow. Sections available are: frequently asked questions, virtual learning tour, games, tests of knowledge, and recipes. It might be fun to test your knowledge and see how much you know. ©
