USU Student Receives National Dairy Scholarship

Bruce Richards, a senior majoring in Dairy Science at Utah State University, has been selected to receive the V. L. Peterson Scholarship for 2003 by the American Jersey Cattle Association (AJCA). This in one of six scholarships awarded annually by the AJCA to undergraduate students majoring in agricultural sciences. The awards will be presented at the Junior Banquet held during the All-American Jersey Show in Louisville, Kentucky on November 8.

Bruce is the son of Flint and Sandy Richards of Erda, Utah. He has been active in university and church organizations while he has been a student at USU. This past summer he completed a dairy internship at the William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute in New York. After graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree next spring, he plans to continue with graduate study in the dairy field before ultimately returning home to engage in the operations of the Richards Jersey Farm in Tooele county. ©
